For ladies, hiding a FUPA (Fat Upper Pubic Area) without relying on shapewear is always a hot topic. Although shapewear works well in hiding FUPA, they are tight, uncomfortable, and not everyone’s cup of tea.

You can hide the FUPA by wearing high-waisted jeans, layer tops, A-line dresses, and tummy-hiding swimwear. In fact, using mid-length belts, or wearing necklaces can also help in hiding Fupa without shapewear.

This guide will give you some tips and effective ways that would help you in hiding the FUPA without wearing tight, uncomfortable shapewear.

How to Hide FUPA without Shapewear?

Fupa is something that causes shame and lowers confidence. But, the good thing is that it can be hidden not only by shapewear but also by wearing suitable dresses.

I know shapewear is a good way to hide Fupa, but they are not comfortable. In this guide, I will give you simple, creative, and effective strategies (excluding shapewear) to dress in a way that boosts your confidence and hides the Fupa.

1- High-waisted bottoms/Jeans

In the previous article, I have already mentioned how the high-waisted jeans will help in hiding Fupa. And let me say it: high-waisted jeans not only work magic in hiding Fupa but they also uplift your fashion and style.

Apart from the jeans, the high-waisted skirts, and shorts are also magical. The reason is that they naturally tuck in the tummy area, and make a smoother silhouette without squeezing you tight.

I always wear the pieces that rise above the belly button for the best effect. Such bottoms not only hide the Fupa by going up to the belly button, they are also fancy, and make you look more stylish, and trendy.

Special Information: Never ever ignore the importance of fabric. I recommend you opt for stretchy materials that provide support without the constriction of traditional shapewear. Denim with a bit of stretch, soft cotton, or even flowy fabrics for skirts can work wonders.

2. Layer Wisely/Layers Tops

Many people use the Layers just to keep the cold away in the winter season. But do you know that you can effectively hide your Fupa by layering the top?

It’s a smart way to create visual interest and draw the eye away from areas we’re less confident about. A well-placed cardigan, blazer, or open shirt can add layers to your look without adding bulk.

One thing that you’ll have to make sure is that your top layers are of the right length; ideally, they should hit just below the hip to elongate the body and balanced proportions.

3. Focus on Fabric and Fit

As I said earlier, fabric plays an important role in hiding the Fupa when you are not wearing the Fupa. In Fact, it is considered the key when it comes to flattering your figure.

According to my experience, the fabrics that drape nicely without clinging too tightly to the body work well in effectively hiding the Fupa. Materials like jersey, bamboo, and soft knits are excellent for this.

They offer enough structure to smooth out the silhouette while providing the comfort we all crave. The fabric of the cloth always determines how comfortable you’ll be while wearing that dress or top.

4. A-line Dresses and Skirts

If you have read my previous article, I also mentioned there that A-line dresses and skirts have a beautiful way of highlighting the waist and then gently flaring out, which can effectively camouflage a FUPA.

What I love about the A-line dresses is that their silhouette is flattering for all body types. It creates a visual balance, accentuating the narrowest part of your waist and gracefully covering the lower tummy area.

Don’t worry about the usability: the reason is that these dresses are available in almost every shape, and design. There’s an A-line style for every occasion.

You’ll get different options from knee-length skirts to maxi dresses, and many more. They are also available in different colors. So, please don’t shy away from prints or colors, as they can add a fun element to your outfit and further distract from the FUPA area.

5. Use Belts

There are many ladies who, unfortunately, don’t have a well-defined waist. Finding FUPA for such ladies can be a bit hard. But, if you use belts, it would help in defining your waist, and push the FUPA downward. It won’t be prominent anymore.

Belts are an even better option, especially with dresses or tunics. You should always put the belt on the narrower part of your waist to enhance your natural curves and distract from the tummy area.

Many people get confused about the size of the belt. Don’t worry: I suggest you opt for medium-width belts that provide structure without digging into your waist. This simple addition can transform the look of an outfit, creating a more polished and put-together appearance.

6. Textures and colors

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures and colors. According to my personal experience, a lighter, flowy blouse under a structured blazer provides coverage while enhancing your shape. Don’t wear sharp colors – instead go with lighter colors.

Clothes that are too tight will emphasize a FUPA, while too loose garments can make you look larger than you are. So balance is key – don’t wear too loose as well as too tight. Tailored pieces that skim the body without squeezing it are ideal.

7. Tummy Hiding Swimwear

One thing that I would love to mention is that you should always experiment, and what makes you feel confident. Wearing swimwear under your tops, or a long shirt can also be a suitable option for hiding the FUPA.

However, if you are going to attend any party, or attend any event that is going to last for a longer duration, then swimwear won’t be a perfect solution. The reason is that the swimwear is usually tight, and causes discomfort. Tummy-hiding swimming is a good option for less time.

8. Accessorize Smartly

Accessories always play a powerful role in how an outfit comes together. I recommend you to wear Necklaces, scarves, and earrings that draw attention to your face and neckline. The reason is that these accessories will shift focus away from the FUPA.

Conclusion

Hiding the FUPA without shapewear is possible, however, you’ll need to do experimentations and ensure that you wear what makes you confident. Keep in mind that dressing to feel confident and comfortable in your skin doesn’t have to be complicated.

In this article, I’ve explained all the useful tips, and strategies that will help you hide the FUPA without wearing any shapewear. Hopefully, it will add value to your fashion, and overall looks. See you with another useful guide.
